Electrical safety tips for your bedroom

You spent a large majority of time in your bedroom, be it watching TV or resting up from a busy day, so its only logical to ensure the room your spend most of your time in is electrically safe.

Here are some electrical safety tips for your bedroom:

  1. Check your electrical devices and appliances for any signs of damage or wear and tear. Replace them immediately if they are damaged or faulty.
  2. Don’t overload your electrical outlets or extension cords. Use power strips with surge protectors to protect your devices from power surges.
  3. Keep all electrical devices away from water or other liquids. This includes keeping drinks and other liquids away from bedside tables.
  4. Unplug any electrical devices that you are not using, especially when you are away from home or sleeping.
  5. Use appropriate wattage light bulbs in your lamps and fixtures to avoid overheating and potential fire hazards.
  6. Make sure your smoke detector is working and has fresh batteries installed.
  7. Keep any electrical cords or cables out of high-traffic areas where they could be tripped over.
